And the dating years begin?!!?

I am sitting here wondering when my oldest will be home fromher first ever date. Yup my oldest. She is SIX. She was asked out on a date by her daddy last week and she happily accepted. Normally I would have a fit if my wonderful DH ever suggested he date a much younger girl, but I told him it was a wonderful idea.

C got dressed in a pretty dress, stockings and all. She bathed last night and made sure I did her hair exactly as per her instructions. She happily wore sneaker with her dress to teh grocery store and excitedly told anyone that looked her way that she had a date! She even had a mini melt down when she didn't have "Proper date shoes" (Her words, not mine!). My little girl is growing up!

She begrudgedly wore here mary janes with a promise from me that we would go shoping for shoes "WIth just a hint of a heel" (Again her, words!). I guess it was a good time to have a melt down since she totally forgot to ask me AGAIN if she could pretty please wear "just" some blush, eyeshadow and lip gloss.

My Daughter likes her man to be properly dressed. DH showed up in a shirt and tie which made her fight tears even more over the non date shoes. They were headed over to Red Lobster then to the movies. She is not a cheap date.

I know I will not always look forward to or approve of her dates in the future, but I hope that DH will treat her so well that she will demand the same from all her future dates. I hope that all her future dates will treat her even better than her daddy does! And she will be very lucky if they would be as handsome!

Ok, it is old news to most of you, but for hte random reader, we are headed there once again!

ANd just for fun...

the news was tlaking about holidays her ein the good old BUffalo region. It seems that Thanksgiving 2006 it was 50 degreeas and misty. Christmas found us 50 degrees and drizzly. New Years Day 2007? 52 and Hazy. AND OUR EASTER IS SHAPING UP TO BE...36 WITH FLURRIES.

No wonder I'm getting socked with a cold. It was 75 earlier this week and now we have snow! Even more reason to dream of an August Disney Vacation!
