Vacation was nice but the service here sucks.
I have to say that the service here sucks. I had a wonderful few days where people willingly made me an insane amount of food to choose from and happily took my dirty dishes away. IN the time it took me to eat my breakfast, my bed was made for me and fresh towels were laid out in a clean bathroom that I did not clean. Some time after dinner I'd return to my room to find my bed turned down and a chocolate placed on my pillow.
Since Sunday, the service has greatly declined. Breakfast was nice, and the dishes got cleared away swiftly. Lunch was fairly good, but when I was handed the menu there was these strange numbers next to the food items, and they refused to take my state room card. Same with dinner. THey did clear away my plates at least, but when I went to bed Sunday night, there was no sign of a chocolate on my pillow.
Monday, I had to make my own bed and get this: I had to PREPARE food for OTHERS, and if I wanted any, I had to get it myself. No one came to clear my plate, I had to take it to the kitchen all by myself, and then I realized, I was expected to wash them as well, and when I got out of the house not only did I have to drive myself to the donut store, I had to use these little green pieces of paper since no one is willing to use my handy cruise card anymore.
It gets worse. I had to venture to the bowels of my home to use a washing machine and a dryer and then was expected to return all the clean clothes to their proper homes, and if I wanted clean sheets, I had to do it myself as well. And if preparing meals for others isn't bad enough, I was forced to go out and restock the cabinets as well.
I'm getting by just fine, and slowly coming to the realization that my wonderful vacation is over. There is no miles of ocean to be seen from my bedroom window and I there are now much bigger uncertainties than "How windy/ humid is it?" or "where will my morning and afternoon naps be?"
BUT there is a reward in it all. Monday night The Boy announced he no longer wants to wear diapers. We have only had 2 small accidents, and none in his bed! He will be 3 next month, and for the first time in almost 8 years, my diaper changing days may be over!!!!
For those of you that didn't know: My wonderful DH sent me away on a short cruise tot he bahamas with my friend, leaving the guys to fend for themselves and our children!!! We left extremely early Thursday, flew form Buffalo to Ft Lauderdale, boarded the ship around noon, spent a couple days sailing, just a few hours on Princess Cays, got off the ship Sunday morning, where a friend picked us up, drove us around Ft Lauderdale and Miami before depositing us back to the airport and I was home just before midnight Sunday Night.
It was WONDERFUL while on board that ship I tell ya!!
